PANHARD VBL RANGE

 

 

 

 

The VBL is in service in 16 armies. It is used mainly for scouting and reconnaissance missions but it can also afford with success antitank or air defense mission. The VBL is the spearhead of the French armour units. It has been used in all operations in Africa, Lebanon, Kosovo and Afghanistan since 15 years. More than 2,300 VBL are in duty all over the world.   Armement The PL127 turret is in duty with VBL in many armies. The gunner of the 12.7 HMG is very well protected. In numerous operations, the VBL 12.7 gives the projected forces a very useful firepower. A 40 mm grenades launcher can also be implemented instead of the 12.7 mm

VBL ANTI-TANK

VBL is very well fitted for antitank defence: Stealthy and very mobile, antitank VBL is used for those missions in many armies. Different versions of antitank VBL have been developed: VBL MILAN, VBL KORNET, VBL TOW and VBL INGWE.

VBL SOURCE - INTEL

 

This version of VBL has been developed in cooperation with THALES. The source system offer reconnaissance units to enhance their range of missions. This system allows also scout units to be integrated in a digitalized network.

VBL RECCO

 

This version has been developed for the 2nd regiment de Hussards. 61 VB2L are adapted for observation missions carrying a SOPHIE camera. 16 VB2L are specially designed for target designation with laser telemetry. 8 VB2L are intended for technical support. And 6 VB2L are specialized in waterborne reconnaissance. The crews have a canoe and observation equipment.
